What you're joining

Moxie Studios is your yoga room inside a whole community center.

Practice Village is a digital community center for women, built online the way a YWCA serves a town. Moxie Studios is its flagship room.

Come for yoga and meditation. Join the whole Village. Founding membership on this page opens every room, not only Moxie Studios.

Who this is for

Start here if this sounds like your year.

Your sleep, joints, and energy changed with perimenopause, and most fitness apps still train you like you're 25. The layoff took the job, the routine, and the gym budget in the same week. You haven't taken a class of any kind in years, and leaving the house for one feels like a lot. Or you tried a studio and spent the whole hour watching yourself be watched.

What the practice does

Yoga and meditation, one practice. Here is what it gives you.

A Black woman with a full afro holding warrior two pose

Physical

Strength, balance, and steadier sleep. Weight-bearing poses support your bones, and that matters now: women lose up to 20 percent of bone density in the five to seven years after menopause. Breath-led core work supports the pelvic floor, which changes for about half of us. Every pose is layered so your joints set the pace.

A woman with long locs seated cross-legged in meditation

Emotional

A calmer baseline. Fifteen minutes of practice is a working tool for a stressful day, and knowing a pose beats copying one: confidence comes from understanding what your body is doing and why.

A Black woman with braided hair balancing in tree pose

Social

A community center of women, open now. Live classes open in February, and you walk in already knowing the practice. Isolation is a health risk on its own; this is a room out of the house that starts at home.

The studies on yoga, mindfulness, menopausal sleep and mood are public and linked in the footer. The faster proof is fifteen minutes on the mat tonight.

Bott Om herself: seen from behind with her full afro, seated in lotus, hands in mudra
Meet Bott Om

Your teacher is modeled on a real one.

Bott Om is the woman on our logo, built from JoYi's own movement and recorded in JoYi's own voice. She gets into every position with you: sitting, standing, lying down, holding. She teaches each pose from the ground up, feet first, because the base creates the action and the action creates the shape. When your attention wanders, she says what a teacher in the room would say: wandering is normal, returning is the practice.

"Unclench and sit with us. You can let this be simple."
Two ways to begin

Start at zero, or start where you are.

Beginner means different things. Some of us know absolutely nothing and want to be taught. Some of us know some poses, half-remember a class from years ago, and want easy practice without a curriculum in the way. The studio holds both doors open, and you can walk between them any day.

Door one

The First 30 Days

Brand new? One pose a day, 10 to 15 minutes a session, always the same shape: arrive, revisit yesterday's pose from memory, learn one new pose in layers, hold it with the mirror watching if you invite it, one steady breath to close. Week one is ground and breath. Week two is the floor. Week three is standing poses. Week four links what you know into a full 20-minute Hatha sequence. Know a pose already? Show the mirror and the course moves at your speed.

Door two

Simple Sequences

Been on a mat before? Guided beginner sequences are open from day one: a gentle morning stretch, an easy standing flow, a rest practice, the evening wind-down, and short sits from one minute to twenty. The wind-down includes two body-scan recordings, one for you alone and one to play with kids in the room. Bott Om checks in, points you toward what fits today, and gets out of your way.

Show up, it counts. Days advance when you show up. Miss four days and day 12 waits for you, exactly where you left it.

The easier version is the real version. Knees down, blocks, wall: all of it counts as the pose.

Your record grows. Every practice ends in your record: the growing list of poses you know, yours to keep, yours to export.

This is practice. This is enough.

Live classes

Live classes open at Lunar New Year.

Saturday, February 6, 2027 · sunrise and sunset · Central Time

JoYi finishes her 200-hour teacher training in October. In February, Moxie Studios opens its live room with sunrise and sunset classes: yoga, meditation, and stretch.

Live classes are a separate, optional room. You choose whether to turn on your camera or microphone before entering. Other people see or hear you only when you choose to participate that way. Classes are never recorded, and the mirror still runs privately on your own machine.

Graduates of the First 30 Days enter first. Founding Villagers hold the next seats. Everyone else enters as space allows.

The founding offer

108 founding seats. Priced in the open.

Membership runs $15 a month today and moves to $25 a month after live classes open. Founding Villagers pay $149 a year and keep that rate for life.

Here is the roadmap and here is the price at every stage. We publish both because women have watched too many communities launch free and vanish. The Village runs on memberships, so the Village answers to members.

Questions

Asked and answered.

Do I need to be flexible, thin, young, or experienced?

You need a floor and 15 minutes. The studio teaches from zero, the sequences meet you where you are, and every pose has an easier version that counts.

What if I hate being on camera?

The camera is optional every single day. Every practice works with it off; the mirror is there for the days you want a teacher's eye on your form.

Who is teaching me?

JoYi Rhyss: meditation teacher, Attitudinal Healing facilitator, 200-hour yoga teacher training complete in October. Bott Om moves and speaks from JoYi's own practice, and February's live classes are taught by JoYi, live. The studio is built the way real studios are: room for more teachers as it grows.

What exactly is in the membership today?

The wind-down recordings, the meditation room as sessions ship this fall, the Simple Sequences as they ship, the First 30 Days first cohort, the open Village rooms, and founding early entry in February. The room grid above is the current state of everything.

What happens to my data?

Camera video is processed on your device and never uploaded. Your record saves what you choose, and you can read, export, or delete it any time.

Refunds?

Thirty days, full refund, no questions. Founding seats that refund go back to the pool of 108.

The Charter List is free. Founder build updates, first word when rooms open, and first access to the February live room after founding members. One email when it matters, and your address is never sold or shared.
